Operation Encompass
Our school takes part in Operation Encompass, a national initiative that helps to safeguard children who may have been exposed to domestic abuse.
It ensures that when police attend a domestic incident where any of our children are present, our designated safeguarding lead (DSL) is notified before the next school day.
This early notification allows our staff to provide immediate, sensitive support to pupils who may be affected. We do not receive details of the incident—only that an incident has occurred—so that we can offer appropriate pastoral care in a confidential and understanding manner.
As a school, we are committed to working in partnership with local police and safeguarding services to protect our pupils. Operation Encompass forms part of our wider commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
